A new month!

So, February already! Holy moly! How did that happen?

Day 1: Fave picture of me
Well, the start of February means the start of me attempting my own February Photo Challenge (see original post below.) I managed to actually do the first day, so things are looking hopeful! I might have cheated somewhat with this photo, it's meant to be my favourite photo of myself...but, well, I am quite indecisive and I'm a bit of a sucker for family/friend pics, so I went a little collage cray cray! So, anyway, day one....success...!

In other news, I am in the process of getting a new haul post together! ((Favourite thing!)) Only problem with being in a relatively small country town, most of my shopping is done online, so waiting for things to arrive seems to take forever. So far I've received some brushes, some foundation, some bronzer and some mascara. I will expand on which brands and a few first impressions of the products and what not when I actually get all of the items I've ordered!

Being a new month and this being a new blog for me, I was thinking that at the start of each month I might do a post with an update of what's happened over the previous month, what I plan on posting about in the coming month, and a revision of my goals (and mini resolutions) and  maybe revisiting some of the things that I have reviewed or talked about in previous posts.

Let's start with Coming Up!
  • As I mentioned before, I will have a haul post coming up really soon. I'm just waiting on a few items to arrive and I can't wait for them!!! I also can't wait to post my first impressions on them because I could honestly talk about beauty products all day long!
  • I will be (hopefully I remember) posting my February Photo Challenge pictures, if not each day, maybe an update at the end of the week.
  • I am such a mascaraholic (that's a word, right...?) so I thought I would post a review/comparison of some of my favourite and least favourite mascaras. Mascara really is probably my most used and favourite of all the beauty products. It really is probably one of the things that I would choose to put on if I could only choose one thing to put on.
  • I need to find a new foundation that I love, so this month could be full of foundation reviews too. I have a few on my list that I want to try! I really do like the Fit Me foundation at the moment (even though the colour that I currently have is too dark, I think it still works well.)
  • Movie/book/tv reviews. I love to share my opinion on most things, especially when I love (or hate) a book or a movie. I might even have to do a top 10 of each!
Goals/Resolutions for February!
  • I am in love with juicing at the moment and really want to try and incorporate more fruit and veggie juices into my diet. I think they are a great way to get amazing amounts of nutrients and they are super filling and easy to throw together in a hurry! There are so many different combinations you can try! I will try and remember to include some pictures and recipes of my favourite juices.
  • I definitely want to improve my health and fitness! (This is going to be a long dot point!) I don't want to just do it for this month obviously, but I want to make changes that I can sustain. I have so far cut out most soft drink (having said that I did cave and have a coke zero at lunch with a work buddy today - first since Christmas, not too bad!) I think the main part of this goal is that I need to find some recipes that are quick and easy and healthy! I don't think that my diet is that bad in general, we have meat and few veg the majority of the time for dinner. The occasional pasta or pasta bake (portion size is the main problem with this because I do loves me pasta!) Lunch is usually a wrap with salad and chicken or turkey or sometimes a salad with tuna. I think sometimes this gets a little dull and need to find some more exciting recipes and ideas that are healthy but not the same old thing! Breakfast is usually porridge with banana and honey or cinnamon or yoghurt with fruits. Some days I might not get around to a proper breakfast before work (I start work at 6:30am - excuse alert!) so I grab a banana on my way out the door and chop op an apple to eat at my desk or take in container of nuts and sultanas. Snacks are usually chopped up apples lately. I'm in absolute love with pink lady apples! The fitness side of things, I basically just have to increase what I would usually do. Longer sessions on the bike, longer walks. I want to work my way up to jogging and maybe take up some kind of team sport! (It's been far too long since I've taken part in team sports, I miss it!)
  • Like I said above, giving up soft drink is a big goal. It's always something that I aim to do, but then I 'fall off the wagon' as they say. I know that I feel better when I don't drink it, especially certain caffeinated sodas!
  • Sleeeeeep. I really need to get more sleep during the week and try not to sleep in as much on the weekend. Starting work at 6:30 means I get up around 5-5:30 and most nights I'm still awake at 10:30. I don't feel like I'm getting as much sleep as I should be and I want to address this. I also use starting early during the week as an excuse to sleep in on the weekends which I think really throws my body clock out of whack!
  • We're currently renovating and it's going quite slow. I need to be more proactive in actually doing things in the house. Painting is one in particular! I also need to actually go and see certain businesses and get some quotes rolling for things that need doing!
  • Keep my car clean! Honestly, this is probably a silly little goal, but I really need to keep my car a lot cleaner, on the inside and outside!!
  • Leave my hair alone! I am currently growing my hair out (it's taking soooo long) and I have pretty damaged hair too. (The reason for cutting a lot of it off!!) It's almost shoulder length with quite a few layers in it at the moment and it's a bottle blonde that I did at home. I don't mind the colour, but I need to stop colouring it myself (it's been back and forward far too many times over the last year!) So basically, instead of colouring at home, I plan to just have foils done at the salon and take better care of my hair (and keep it blonde instead of changing colours constantly!)
Last month revisted!
  • My main item in this list is from my Target Haul. The Essence Forget It Concealer Pallette. I still love the coverage and correcting that I get from the green colour corrector, but I've already hit pan on the green. It doesn't spread that easily so I feel like I have to use a lot to get the coverage that I want. I still really like this product, but I think that some of the slightly pricier colour correctors will last me longer and work just as well.

Well, that seemed like along, rambling post!! Anyone who happens past my blog, feel free to comment on any of these items. I'm always interested to hear other peoples opinions on whether or not I should do a post like this, or any items other people are interested in hearing about me ramble on about.
Any suggestions for recipes are always welcome and I would love a product recommendation or two as well!!
